The Standard Madison

The Standard Madison is a luxury, mixed-use building located on the up-and-coming East Washington Avenue corridor and is the latest addition to the corridor’s ongoing facelift. The immense 449,793-square-foot building features 289 residential units within three wings of apartments and four connected townhomes. Also featured within the building are 15,015-square-feet of commercial space anchored by a Starbucks, a popular local restaurant. There are also two levels of underground tenant and public parking. Prior to construction, an old car maintenance shop and strip mall needed demolishing; however, this revealed contaminated soil that required remediation. Outside of removing the contaminated soil, the project required significant soil stabilization to support the large structure. Although the land that The Standard Madison is built on presented challenges, the final product is a beautiful and amenity-rich building. It has two second-level courtyards featuring a pool, dog run, seating areas, eight separate grill stations, a sixth-floor clubhouse room with access to a rooftop patio, co-working space, a rock-climbing wall, theater, first floor lounge with bar and fireplace, and a multipurpose room. In a city that faces a housing shortage, The Standard Madison is a welcome addition to the skyline.
