Site logistics are challenging on any project, however, the small lot size and close proximity to one of the busiest thoroughfares in Madison made The Lux project extremely challenging. With no lay-down space, there was barely room to take deliveries. Even the main job trailer was located a block away. As a result, subcontractors had to carefully plan just-in-time deliveries. The owner’s visionary implementation of the first commercial automatic, robotic lift parking system in the U.S. provides high density parking in the lower levels. The building’s front facade has galvanized panels as an exterior decoration, not a typical finish surface in the construction industry.
