Progressive Drive Apartments

Due to a high demand for affordable housing in the Wisconsin Dells area, the clients’ goal was to construct a complex that offered modern and welcoming units for renters to call “Home.” This panelized, wood-framed, multi-family, residential complex achieved that goal. Progressive Apartments offers up to six different layouts within 64 unit options, including studios and one- or two-bedroom units that vary from 500 to 1035-square-feet. Strategic time-saving methods were deployed through daily morning huddles to identify issues early, contracting a framing company to assist HBI’s field crew, and regularly scheduled meetings between the Superintendent and the Foreman to work collaboratively on the most efficient ways to accomplish tasks and motivate the field crew. With an aggressive schedule, there were up to 62 people on site at times, working on multiple trades and multiple phases at the same time, with nearly 28,000 hours recorded and zero injuries. Cabinets, countertops, elevator, and electrical gear were impacted by delivery delays. Progressive Apartments was the first in the area to have fiber run to the units for internet and cable services. Despite the setbacks, Holtz Builders, Inc. was able to turn over this project on time in 10 months.
