About the Project

The new Pauquette Park Pavilion is a 2,600-square-foot steel framed column and roof structure with standing seam metal roof with decorative stonework. Four days of rain made the ground too saturated to get trucks in to demolish what remained from the old structure and get sitework started. Due to the close proximity of the jobsite to a pond, constant monitoring of environmental controls were required to keep construction debris out of the water. After discovering ground water was higher than expected, building plans were changed to raise the structure one foot. Also, a soils engineer determined the existing soil required two feet of undercutting and the installation of three-inch clear breaker run before installing footings. During construction, Holtz Builders discovered the steel and wood installation was not amounting to the correct height of the plans, so additional lumber was installed to correct the situation.
