Consolidated Construction expanded its geographic reach to build the 126-unit, 147,000-square-foot Park Creek Independent Living complex in Cypress, Texas. It included significant project challenges, including value engineering initial estimates, the need to recruit subcontractors in an unfamiliar area and 30 inches of rain and power outages from Hurricane Harvey. The structure is a fully sprinklered, four-story, wood frame structure with four fire zones. It has structural steel frames for large open areas. Public areas include a large, commercial-grade kitchen, a bistro, wellness center, theatre, shops and vocational rooms, a large pool and outdoor courtyard.
