NFH Hangar

Nelson Family Holdings (NFH), the owners of four Kalahari Resorts & Convention Centers throughout the country, needed a new hangar to accommodate its second jet for owners and staff who frequently fly to their other resort locations. The new 12,000-square-foot pre-engineered Metallic Building System metal hangar building features an 85 foot-wide sliding Norco hangar door. Construction of the pre-engineered metal hangar building required special coordination to deal with material, delivery, and drainage issues. The owner purchased two lots to accommodate its new hanger, the third one built by Friede at the airport in the last five years. The hangar, designed by Integrity Engineering & Design through a design-build contract with NFH, features a conference room decorated with aviation art, a lounge, kitchenette, storage room, a 20-foot industrial fan, and in-floor heating. Kalahari construction and design staff were actively involved in the building and the final interior design. Work began in August 2021 and was completed in February 2022. The total construction contract was for $1,800,000.
