Laskaris Home

The Laskaris family lost their 18,000-square-foot home on Clare Isle in Lake Delton to a lightning strike in 2016. The family hired Holtz Builders after plans to use another construction company fell through. The original home was a three-year build, but the plan was to build the new, two-story, luxurious, custom-designed home with swimming pool and large cabana in under two years. Holtz Builders met that challenge. Working on an island provided beautiful views, but a tight construction site for material deliveries, making scheduling important. The owners also worked directly with some contractors, adding some challenges to coordination of all schedules. The home has numerous hips and valleys in the roof system, along with special engineered trusses to support the owner’s furnished car and motorcycle that hung from the ceiling of the man cave. All drywall received a level five finish and design and coordination of the grand staircase system and glass elevator required extra care and communication.
