The 227,000 square foot world-class Kwik Trip Bakery – Bread/Bun Line was completed on budget and within a short 13-month time frame. Wieser Brothers incorporated the installation of muiti-million dollar equipment during construction. More than 50 subcontractors and suppliers worked together for a total of 194,000 man hours with no lost workdays. A mass concrete placement as thick as eight feet was needed to support two large flour silos and one sugar silo. Oxidizer units were installed on the roof using a 400-ton overhead crane. The contractor also value-engineered an energy reclaim system: using heat exhaust from ovens to heat water for cleaning and hand washing.
