Klein Ford

The Keller Design/Build team was engaged by Klein Ford to determine if a former Shopko Hometown store in Winneconne could be converted into a car dealership. The store was a a pre-engineered building. Keller came up with a creative plan that worked, flowed and even looks good. Although the interior needed a complete demo other than the restrooms, the needs and layout for a new Ford dealership fit perfectly. Among the obstacles for this project were moving structurally-supportive columns to get the exact car spacing in the shop, removing much of the existing shop floor unexpectedly due to the weight of the car lifts and mitigating an artificial wetland that should have never had a wetland designation. Keller worked with Klein Ford and the Ford Corporation to make sure that all of Ford’s architectural requirements were met, including materials and colors, doors and glass, floors and ceilings and signage and lighting.
