International Residence Hall @ Dollywood

Holtz Builders, Inc. worked closely with the design team, owners, building operators, and trusted subcontractors to develop a safe, efficient, and effective 141,612-squarefoot, U-shaped building. There were more than 35 people in eight organizations involved in the initial design and development. Due to the nature of the occupant, the team was on a tight schedule that allotted 199 workweek days, but uncooperative weather brought the total available workweek days down to 157. The open collaboration and detailed planning across all aspects of this project allowed for owner turnover and student move-in a full three days ahead of schedule. IRH Dollywood was Holtz Builders’ premier project to utilize its new construction management software, Procore, which allowed up-to-date sharing of information and removed many typical construction delays. The project site proved to be a challenge as they navigated many material deliveries under a roller-coaster track and coordinated ever-changing access routes with their adjacent neighbors.
