In 2019, when Tim Horn took over Horn Plastics from his father, one of his initial priorities was the modernization and expansion of the company’s three-decade-old facility. Following the challenges of the first year of the COVID pandemic, Horn approached Friede & Associates in 2021 to collaborate on the creation of a new facility that would cater to the evolving needs of his expanding company and offer an enhanced working environment for his employees. The final outcome perfectly aligned with Horn’s vision. The project involved a doubling of the structure’s size and the incorporation of new access points. This included the creation of a dock enclosure that is at grade on one side while having a dock pit on the other to allow for the Horn team to install their trademarked Super-Slide plastic liners directly into waiting trucks and trailers and also provide greater flexibility to their shipping and receiving operations. The project also allowed Horn to upgrade his office and employee breakroom and bathrooms to provide a place for them to relax at lunch and breaks and to provide a more professional image for potential clients visiting the Wisconsin Dells plant.
