The new corporate headquarters for the Dramm Corporation was the quintessential design/build project, built around a well-equipped design team, visionary ownership group, and talented team of tradespeople. The building was designed around an existing water feature on the site prior to development. As the cost of materials began to spiral out of control, the design team was able to pivot and separate the 84,000-square-foot manufacturing portion of the project from the interior build-out and office structure, saving the client over $225,000 in steel escalation costs and months of schedule delay. As work began on the manufacturing structure, the team navigated real-time design changes driven by supply chain constraints. The final design oriented the facility with direct views from a highly visible interstate corridor, boasting an array of tasteful exterior finishes including natural stone masonry, composite rain screen panel systems, and glass. Outside, Dramm’s commitment to sustainability and nature is showcased through a ground mounted solar array, natural plantings, electric vehicle charging stations, and structural considerations for a future rooftop solar array. The project logged over 40,000 labor hours with zero recordable incidents and ABC members contributed to approximately 65% of the project total.
