Carr Valley Cheese Expansion

As Carr Valley Cheese continues to grow to meet demand for their award-winning cheeses, they also find themselves needing to find new employees and upgrade their facilities. Unfortunately, like seemingly every other successful business, labor shortages have limited their ability to grow over the last few years. As a result, they have looked to new equipment and technology to help meet the new demand. Over the last few years, Friede & Associates had the opportunity to work with Carr Valley on a variety of projects, with one of the largest and complicated being the expansion of their Mauston cheesemaking operations and renovating their onsite retail store that was completed in early 2023. This project included relocating a stream on the property and flood mitigation efforts for this and future expansions, the construction of a new block and precast factory, extensive modifications to the existing production equipment and refrigeration, and a new exterior facade to create a more inviting customer experience at their retail operations. And to do it all while keeping them in operation for all but a short two week window of time.
