Brewster Cheese, Dryer Addition

Brewster Cheese Company, a loyal customer of PDC for over 25 years, undertook a significant project to replace its existing Whey Processing Facility in Stockton, Illinois. The new state-of-the-art system was housed in a newly constructed 4-story, 75-foot-tall structure. PDC was hired by their long-term customer on a time & material (not to exceed) scope. The nearly $10 million project took PDC 18 months to complete. PDC utilized a mix of in-house and temporary labor (electricians and welders), with approximately 40% of the team comprising PDC employees and 60% temporary workers. Handling various aspects, including medium and low voltage power distribution, backup power system, fire pump service and related equipment wiring, building interior and exterior lighting, HVAC power and control, general power wiring, process motor wiring, process motor control wiring, and multiple low-voltage systems, PDC accumulated over 38,000 man-hours on the project. The facility was operational and processing product by August 2023.
