The newly renovated Blain’s Farm & Fleet located in Onalaska, Wisconsin, is a 135,242-square-foot structure featuring many updated designs. Royal Construction was able to make the owners vision for the improved store come to life with this $4.3 million remodel. New elements included refreshing the sales floor with new checkout lanes, reorganizing departments, and making significant structural and aesthetic improvements to both the interior and exterior of the building. Construction on the existing building started in June of 2022 and ran for approximately 6 months, wrapping up in December of 2022. Although construction was completed on-time and on-budget, it did not come without challenges. The store remained operational during the remodel, unaffecting normal hours. Work had to be preformed in phases so customer flow could be maintained with minimal impact. Disruptive and high risk tasks were performed and completed after business hours. The end result was a huge improvement to the facility’s appearance and functionality. This remodel could not have been done without the help of the River Valley Architects and all of the collaborators at Blain’s Farm & Fleet.
