Poellinger Electric provided the electrical installation for the brand-new engineering hall on the University of Wisconsin-Platteville campus. Sesquicentennial Hall is a 200,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art building which includes an Innovation Center, a makers space, an accessible green roof, multiple teaching laboratories, classrooms and support offices for engineering students and staff. Construction began in October 2020. Poellinger Electric was immediately hit with COVID-19-related supply chain delays which hindered the team from beginning the electrical, AV and telecommunications rough in. After approximately a three-month delay, Poellinger’s teams were able to begin the electrical and telecommunication installation. Many long workdays and Saturdays helped the hard-working team achieve the success of completion within what quickly became a tight timeline. The electrical installation portion of this project included 600,000 lineal feet of copper wire pulled, 70,000 feet of low voltage cable pulled, the installation of over 1,439 light fixtures, 3,500 feet of suspended linear fixtures, 1,000 feet of LED tape lighting and 2,000 feet of cable tray.
