WISCONSIN DELLS, Feb.13, 2025 — Nick May received Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin’s most prestigious individual honor, the Wes Meilahn Award, on Thursday. The award was presented before nearly 300 attendees at a luncheon during SuperCon, the chapter’s largest annual event.
More than 20 years ago, Nick May founded Refrigeration Design Consultants and Refrigeration Installation Specialists. From the outset, he became an active ABC member, dedicating his time and energy to advancing the organization’s mission. He has played a pivotal role in the chapter’s legislative committee, advocating for public policies that benefit ABC members. Answering the call to leadership, Nick served on the ABC of Wisconsin board of directors, where he helped refine and strengthen the chapter’s political giving efforts. Even after completing his three-year board term, he returned to the legislative committee, reaffirming his commitment to ABC’s advocacy work.

Nick’s dedication extends beyond committee work. He has been a generous supporter of ABC, sponsoring numerous chapter events and political fundraisers. His leadership was evident when U.S. Senator Ron Johnson requested a town hall meeting with ABC members on short notice. Nick worked tirelessly over the weekend to organize a well-attended, well-executed event that earned the senator’s appreciation for its professionalism and efficiency.
While Nick’s commitment to ABC is unwavering, his greatest devotion is to his family. He often speaks fondly of his wife, Kimberly, whom he considers his best friend. The chapter expresses its gratitude to Nick’s family for sharing his time and dedication with ABC.
“Nick exemplifies what it means to be a leader within ABC,” said Kelly Tourdot, president of ABC of Wisconsin. “His passion, dedication, and tireless advocacy have strengthened our organization in so many ways. We are honored to recognize his contributions with this well-deserved award.”
Each year, ABC of Wisconsin presents the Wes Meilahn Award to an individual who demonstrates outstanding dedication, leadership, and service to the chapter and the merit shop construction industry. Wes Meilahn, instrumental in the founding of ABC of Wisconsin in 1972, was known for his unwavering commitment to ABC’s mission. He served as chapter chair in 1974, and following his passing in 1984, the chapter leadership established this prestigious award in his honor. The recipient is chosen annually by a committee of past Wes Meilahn Award honorees.
