MADISON, Feb. 21, 2020 — Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin is mourning the loss of long-time member Dan Zignego of the Zignego Company. Dan, who passed on Feb. 18 at 62, was loved by many.
“It’s difficult to find individual members who are as supportive as was Dan,” said John Mielke, president of ABC of Wisconsin. “Dan was an incredible person who believed strongly in his faith and family. He was a friend to me and many others,” Mielke said. “He will be sorely missed.”
Dan received the chapter’s highest honor in 2011 — the Wes Meilahn Award — for passion and dedication toward ABC and merit construction principles. Dan was a former Board member and chair. He was also active on many committees and was currently serving on the Apprenticeship & Training Board of Trustees. He also served on two state trade advisory committees (Laborers’ and Concrete Finishers’) and was the chair of the Laborers’ Committee. Dan was also a strong supporter of the ABCWI PAC and believed strongly in the ABC mission. Just last week, Dan was at SuperCon, actively raising funds to support candidates who believe in the same free enterprise principles as do ABC members.
“The thoughts and prayers of many ABC members are with Dan’s family,” Mielke added.
