2024 Instructor of the Year

The Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin Instructor of the Year award is presented to the ABC of Wisconsin Apprenticeship Instructor who exhibits the highest level of commitment to apprenticeship training.

The Instructor of the Year will be announced at the 2024 ABC of Wisconsin Graduation Banquet on May 16, 2024.

Selection Criteria

  • Must have taught ABC of Wisconsin apprentices for at least three (3) years, and is teaching in the 2023-2024 school year.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and must be highly regarded by apprentices, administrative staff, and employers.
  • Must work with employers, apprentices, and ABC of Wisconsin education staff to promote apprenticeship.
  • Must teach according to the guidelines of ABC of Wisconsin.
  • Must be actively involved in promoting the ABC of Wisconsin Skill Competition (where applicable).
  • Must be recommended by employers, apprentices, ABC of Wisconsin staff, or other instructors.
  • In general, the ABC of Wisconsin Instructor of the Year goes far beyond other apprentices in all aspects of on-the-job training, paid and unpaid related instruction.

The ABC of Wisconsin Critiquing Panel, composed of ABC members and a Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards representative, selects the Instructor of the Year. The award winner will be chosen based on the nomination answers, recommendation letters, survey of apprentices, and a questionnaire that the nominee fills out.
