Kwik Trip Learning Center

To address the childcare needs of its nearly 3,000 employees, Kwik Trip prioritized the establishment of a centralized childcare facility on its campus. The $4,254,107 renovation project involved transforming an existing wellness center gym into a modern childcare and learning center. The renovation included the demolition of the existing mezzanine, the construction of a new second floor with composite steel framing to create additional space for classrooms and offices, and the installation of a new elevator. In addition, a safety storm shelter in the middle of the building for students and staff. Throughout the project, extensive modifications were made, including the removal of 500 yards of fill, excavation of the existing structural floor slab to install hot water radiant flooring, and the addition of new columns and footings to enhance the existing frame. The comprehensive renovations paved the way for the development of new classrooms, offices, a kitchen, and restrooms. Completed in a swift six-month timeframe with the collaboration of over 40 trade partners, the Kwik Trip Kids Learning Center now stands as a state-of-the-art facility, equipped to provide essential childcare and educational services to Kwik Trip co-workers for years to come.
