Sheboygan Falls School Rehab & Townhomes

The renovation of the iconic Sheboygan Falls Middle School turned the former school into 56 unique, affordable residential units and nine newly-constructed townhome units. A plan for sequencing of trades early in the project allowed for safe asbestos abatement and lead remediation during demolition. There were many other renovation challenges, including installation of an elevator shaft in the existing school building and stablizing foundations and structural walls while infilling occurred. Northcentral Construction also removed nearly 12,000 square feet of concrete floors to facilitate new plumbing and mechanicals. Strong coordination and constant communication was critical to keeping the project on schedule. A primary requirement of the project was to maintain as much of the original feel and components of the building. This included the renovated gym that is being used by the YMCA.
