About the Project

Kraemer Brothers was contracted to build Promega’s newest 283,000-square-foot research and development facility. This building is Promega’s largest yet and is truly unique. Uncommon features include ?floating? walkway bridges that seamlessly connect the four technology quadrants (designed to look like a clover leaf) of the building on every floor. The curved walls and installation of the exterior glass was a challenge of its own. The building envelope is designed with a ?double wall? thermal heating system with an interior wall of glass and an exterior curtain wall of glass and brick, along with an elaborate MEP system to heat and cool the entire building. Installation of a huge solar array covers almost all of the roofing on three of Promega?s buildings. The rainwater collection system is expected to save one million gallons of water per year. The use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) improved the client?s understanding of the project and ensured project quality.
