The Lake Traverse Reservation in South Dakota is one of the most beautiful in the nation. Consolidated Construction was selected for several integrated projects in response to the tribe’s urgent need to care for and protect members impacted by COVID-19. It included a quarantine/isolation building, food pantry and daycare. Speed-to-completion was of the utmost importance for the tribe to recieve federal CARES Act reimbursement funding, a challenge with manpower and material shortages from the pandemic. Consolidated Construction and the architectural firm fast-tracked the project by sequencing design. This meant foundations were started even before site plans were finished. The contractor also worked with the tribe’s TERO office to provide hands-on training to tribal members interested in the construction trades. There were zero recordables or safety incidents.
