Holy Spirit Parish Addition and Renovation

The 10,000-square-foot addition and renovation to Holy Spirit Parish in Stevens Point by Ellis Construction entailed a new building addition and remodel of the existing sanctuary. It also included new mechanical systems in the existing church building with a new energy-efficient DOAS system. Several parishes were combining into one. A large, custom-made stained-glass cross called the “Tree of Life” was saved from one location and carefully integrated into the new church addition. Several large exterior windows were sized specifically to accommodate the Tree of Life. Fundraising activities were constantly monitored to ensure correct cash-flow throughout for the variety of work desired by the parish. The project required extreme attention to masonry quality to match the existing early 1900’s brick. Sensitivity to the main sanctuary was important to allow for a new entrance into the Parish Center gathering space.
