Whistler Student Apartments

The Whistler Apartments is a 63-unit, luxury,  student apartment complex at the University of Iowa. The rugged exterior materials consist of brick, cast stone and metal panel set on a base of rough cut Halquist Stone veneer accented with rough sawn cedar canopies and “eyebrow” roofs. The lobby and its floor-to-ceiling stone serves as a transition from the rugged exterior to the polished interior, which has luxury vinyl plank floors, slate maple cabinets, light granite countertops and stainless steel appliances and light fixtures. The fifth floor includes an outdoor plaza that overlooks Iowa City. The project required the demolition of one home an relocation of another.
