The Shady Lane expansion project is part of a master plan of a multi-phase facility expansion to help meet the demands of an aging society. The project exemplified everything that a true design/build approach to construction is meant to deliver. The integration of major trades in the design process produced a project that finished ahead of schedule, only one minor change order and within .02% of project budget. The successes of this project are a direct result of effective communication, short & long term planning & scheduling and a collaborative team effort. Major trade partners were selected by the design team based on their practical experience, reputation and ability to supply manpower for the project; or essentially on merit, not lowest bid.
