151 East Wilson

The 151 East Wilson project by Stevens Construction Corp. is a 17-story, post-tensioned concrete structure consisting of 121 luxury apartments and three levels of conditioned parking. Constructed on tight space between two thoroughfares and adjacent railroad tracks on the Madison isthmus, it has breathtaking views of Lake Monona and the Wisconsin Capitol building. Challenges for the 15-month project included the removal of asbestos in floor tiles, installation of steel beam reinforcement for a neighboring building, use of spread footings within inches of neighboring footings and no laydown space in the area, which required perfect timing of deliveries.
