Insurance and Benefits

ABC Merit Choice® the national insurance agency owned and operated by ABC that works with members to ensure cost effective, quality benefits to attract and retain employees in a tight labor market. ABC Merit Choice® offers custom administration for plans designed for the construction industry. Medical plan recommendations  include traditional (HMO, PPO, POS plans) or consumer driven high deductible plans (Health Savings Accounts or Health Reimbursement Arrangements) with wellness incentives.

Group Health Options: Merit Choice® provides Wisconsin member firms the best health benefit plans and rates available to suit the needs of the firm.

• Merit Choice® and WPS Health Insurance of Wisconsin now offer custom plans with reduced rates specifically for the members of the Wisconsin chapter! These plans include custom PPO and HSA choices.

• Merit Choice® works with national carriers such as Principal, United Health Care, Humana, Assurant, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

• Local carriers include Security Health, Unity, Midwest Security, Physicians Plus, Dean Health,, Group Health Cooperative, Network Health and MercyCare.

Dental Insurance: These association plans with no waiting period for major services, are underwritten by MetLife and offer network and non-network benefits.

Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment: Association only employer sponsored plan with an optional employee paid supplemental life coverage for hourly, supervisor and executive employees also underwritten by MetLife.

Short Term Disability: Employer sponsored income protection for employees with up to a maximum of $1,500 per week or flat benefit amounts to the same level. Underwritten by MetLife.

Long Term Disability: Voluntary (employee paid) income protection with Emergency Travel Assistance and Employee Assistance insured by Unum Provident.

Vision: Employer sponsored benefit which includes coverage for Polycarb (safety) lenses insured through Spectera, Inc., a United Health Group company. These benefits can be for 12 month or 24 month frequency.
